Privacy Policy

Oulha is built so that your voice and your messages stay yours. This policy explains exactly what we handle, why, and for how long.

1. What we never store

• Your voice. Audio is streamed for transcription while you hold the key, and is not saved by us.
• What you dictate. The text is cleaned up, typed where your cursor is, and not saved on our servers.
• Selected text and spoken instructions used by the command key, and the websites you write on.
• Screenshots. Oulha never captures your screen.

2. What we store, and why

• Account: your email and name, from Google, Apple or email sign-in (through Clerk, our sign-in provider), so you can sign in.
• Your settings, Dictionary, snippets and styles, so they sync across your Macs.
• Usage counts: how many words you dictated each week, to apply the Free limit and show your statistics. Counts only, never the words.
• Subscription status from Polar, our payment provider. We never receive your card details.
• Waitlist: if you join a waitlist on oulha.com, your email, to tell you when Oulha (or the phone app) is available. Nothing else is sent.

3. On your Mac

Your dictation history (your last 50 dictations) is kept only on your Mac, encrypted, and is never sent to us. You can turn it off. Context features read only the text box you're typing in, and only if you allow it.

4. Service providers

To turn speech into text we use ElevenLabs (speech recognition) and Anthropic (text clean-up and styles). They process audio and text only to return the result to you, under their data-processing terms. We also use Cloudflare (hosting), Clerk (sign-in) and Polar (payments). Each handles only what it needs for its job.

5. No ads, no selling

We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to train AI models. oulha.com uses no advertising or tracking cookies; it only remembers your theme and language in your browser.

6. Your choices

You can see and edit your settings, Dictionary and snippets in the app, and delete your account and everything stored with it from Settings → Account → Delete account. To ask for a copy of your data or anything else, write to support@oulha.com.

7. Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit and stored with our hosting provider. Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete it. Waitlist emails are deleted when the waitlist closes or when you ask.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
